Partnering with AmeriCorps and Equal Heart to provide service opportunities, career exploration and professional development
Readers 2 Leaders is a host site for AmeriCorps members serving through Equal Heart. Readers 2 Leaders offers service opportunities for AmeriCorps members during the school year and over the summer. AmeriCorps members receive both a living stipend as well as an education award for their service. Members are also provided with opportunities for continued education and professional development during their term of service.
2026-2027 AmeriCorps Opportunity:
Members serve in our After-School program and must be available 2:00-6:00pm (Monday-Thursday)
Term:
September 1, 2026 - May 27, 2027
Responsibilities:
Serve as a mentor & role model
Assist with the creation and facilitation of hands-on STEM and arts learning activities
Coordinate with student/volunteer pairings for the Reading Buddies sessions
Assist students with independent learning in the computer lab
Build positive relationships with students
Compensation:
$5,400 living allowance, paid out biweekly
